A pot in a Box, is an endeavour I started together with other Belgian ceramic artists to make collectable ceramics available to ceramic collectors.
The idea was to offer collectable pieces that will fit into a box of 15cm square so that they could be displayed on a wall mount or shelf display, not taking up too much space.
A pot in a Box is een initiatief dat ik samen met andere Belgische keramisten ben gestart om verzamelbare keramiek beschikbaar te maken voor keramiekverzamelaars.
Het idee was om verzamelbare stukken aan te bieden die passen in een vierkante doos van 15 cm , zodat ze kunnen worden tentoongesteld op een muur kast die niet te veel ruimte innemen.
Book. My workshops on ceramic art Decoration, English: I have made the workshop books in Nederlands and English. These books are a copy of my workshops on the techniques covered. These books depict the methods and techniques I use as I realise there are many different ways to achieve different decoration methods like Terra Sigillata etc. Book number one is mainly about the creation of crackle Terra Sigillata. I have explained my method of making the Terra to the methods I use to decorate, fire, and reduce the pieces to create the crackle effect. Another topic I have covered in this first book is the methods I use to add colour to the Terra pieces. The polishing of Raku clay surfaces and preparing clay surfaces before Terra is applied is also handled. I have also included other methods I found to make impressive decorations and projects I enjoy making. Other sections in the book include Water Etching, Flat shaped teapots, Stamping images on the wheel head, accentuating a crackle slip effect, and more.
Boek. Mijn Workshops Keramische Kunstdecoratie, Nederlands: Ik heb de workshopboeken in het Nederlands en Engels gemaakt. Deze boeken zijn een kopie van mijn workshops over de behandelde technieken. Deze boeken geven de methoden en technieken weer die ik gebruik, omdat ik besef dat er veel verschillende manieren zijn om verschillende decoratiemethoden zoals Terra Sigillata enz. te bereiken. Boek nummer één gaat voornamelijk over het maken van craquelé Terra Sigillata. Ik heb uitgelegd hoe ik de Terra maak en welke methoden ik gebruik om de stukken te decoreren, te bakken en te reduceren om het craquelé-effect te creëren. Een ander onderwerp dat ik in dit eerste boek heb behandeld zijn de methoden die ik gebruik om kleur aan de Terra stukken toe te voegen. Het polijsten van Raku klei oppervlakken en het voorbereiden van klei oppervlakken voordat Terra wordt aangebracht wordt ook behandeld. Ik heb ook andere methoden opgenomen die ik heb gevonden om indrukwekkende decoraties te maken en projecten die ik graag maak. Andere hoofdstukken in het boek zijn Water etsen, platte theepotten, het stempelen van afbeeldingen op de draaischijf, het accentueren van een craquelé slib effect en meer.
